FAQ - 2022 Solstice Newgrange Indoor & Outdoor Experience
Frequently Asked Questions - re Solstice overnight event:
1. Q: Sacred space?
…warm, relaxed, joyful atmosphere in keeping with the energies of the Solstice… Stillness…awareness…letting go and aspiring to creating a more harmonious world for the year ahead.
2. Q: Food, hot beverages, juices & drinking water.
Food will be at set times and is included in your booking.
Hot beverages, fruit and small snacks will be available through the night.
Feel free to bring your juicer & fruit/veg (for non-sleeping hours)
This is a vegetarian event like all our events. And Vegans are catered for (usually dairy-free soup for dinner).
Drinking water: Millhouse, Slane - tap water.
3. Q: Getting inside Newgrange?
It is 12 min drive from here to Newgrange. However, access to the inside of Newgrange at the exact time of sunrise is decided by lottery. On 21 Dec when the lottery winners come out (approx. 10mins after sunrise) Newgrange is open to everyone and free to go in.
4. Q: How long is it?
The second half of 20th of December to the first half of the 21st of December.
Each year the timetable changes slightly, please check.
The arrival is at the Dowth monument for the Solstice Sunset Ceremony, and then over to the venue for the check-ins.
*** This year (2022) there are no ‘Morning Only’ tickets guys, as we are just heading to the Newgrange and not coming back for Breakfast.
5. Q: How much is it?
95€ | 75€ | Pre-booking required | All workshops, Communal Supper & Communal Sleeping space are included in the price. | Tickets are transferable and non-refundable. If you can’t make it, let us know: your place will be passed on to another person. Your own ticket can be carried forward and re-used at any of our events: Conscious Concert, Power of Love New Years, Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice.
2022: Add-on beds are available at an extra - provided by the 5 star venue: heated glamping, rooms & jacuzzi in some cases.
6. Q: How to get there / car share
The exact fuel-share/car-pooling post link is updated annually.
Please follow the directions carefully:
First: Dowth Monument. Then: Millhouse, Slane.
Once you pre-book you’ll receive the UPDATED information pack (with directions & other useful info).
On the day of the event you will observe Solstice Experience signs at the local junctions (Celtic spiral). If you need help with personal traveling arrangements please use the wall of our current [2022] FB event.
7. Q: Children allowed?
This event is suitable for over 14 year olds.
8. Q: Accommodation
Communal sleeping space is provided for all and included in the price of your booking. The floor is covered with duvets all around the fireplaces for the night, people bring sleeping bags and pillows.
In 2022 The Millhouse, Slane is our new venue. Right on the bank of river Boyne. The owner offers rooms (double, bridal suite, glamping pods) to those attending this solstice, please read their info here www.wintersolstice.ie/venue-rooms and if resonates add it when booking. She charges up to 105 eur per person depending on the room choice.

9. Q: Is the Sauna on this year?
2022 Solstice has no sauna (it is being re-wired at the time of writing this FAQ. If it’s done by the 20th Dec - great!:)
*** the venue has a couple of jacuzzis at the glamping pods (we haven’t checked these out yet - the lady in charge of the wedding accommodation explained that some glamping pods have access to their own wee jacuzzis).
10. Q: Millhouse Slane: indoors / outdoors?
Millhouse Slane is a top-notch wedding venue. We are holding the overnight experience in the two adjacent ‘Yoga Rooms’. Some of you might remember the Harvest Moon Gathering we held there indoors/outdoors right on the River Boyne.
Wooden floors, two fireplaces. At our disposal: mini cafeteria, toilets, sleeping by the fireplace (floor covered with duvets). Some guests who are not into communal sleepover are booking rooms/glamping pods beds here: www.wintersolstice.ie/venue-rooms
